Interior
* Everything not securely fastened MUST be stored outside the vehicle.
* Floormats must be removed from the driver's side.
* No excessive play in steering.
* Firm brake pedal.
* Seat belts must be in good condition, operable and of the SAME TYPE for both front seats (passenger belt requirements must be met if an instructor is to be riding in the vehicle).
* Video cameras must be securely mounted with a non-elastic tether.
* Roll bars are highly recommended for convertibles.
Engine Compartment
* Positive throttle return.
* No cracked, swelled, or leaking hoses.
* No fluid leaks - a leak is defined as fluid observed dripping from the vehicle at a rate exceeding one drop every 10 seconds.
* Battery must be securely mounted. Owners of 4th Gen. F-Bodies need to pay close attention as battery mounts commonly fail.
Chassis/Suspension
* No detectable play or noise when pulling on tires at the top.
* DOT approved tires or road racing slicks.
* Speed rating on tires should be appropriate for anticipated top speed (100-125 for most participants).
* Tires must not be worn down to cords or showing secondary rubber layer.
* Participants should check lug tightness before each road course session.
* No broken or missing wheel studs.
* Plastic centercaps on your wheels have a tendency to melt from the brake's heat. You should consider removing them before going out on the track.
* It is highly recommended to change brake fluid if it hasn't been done in the past six months. Look for a fluid with a high wet boiling point such as Ford Heavy Duty, Valvoline, Wilwood, or any other high quality fluid.
Body/Exterior
* No damage that could cause damage to other vehicles, such as protruding bumpers or panels.
* No loose panels or accessories.
* Brake lights must be operable.
* Must have two side mirrors.
* No bras or headlight or taillight covers.
Things that you might want to bring along to the track:
*You must wear a helmet whether you’re the driver or a passenger out on the track. We suggest a helmet with at least a M90 rating (motorcycle and snowmobile spec), though a S90 rated helmet is preferred.
* Torque wrench for checking lugs.
* Air pressure gauge.
* Extra brake pads if your pads are questionable.
* Tarp to lay all your stuff on or to cover it in case of rain.
* Cooler with lots of water.
* Some basic tools for quick repairs.
* Small 12V air pump.
* Folding chairs.
